Artwheel Academy

Where young artists learn to see, question, and create.

At Artwheel, we don't just teach to draw and paint - we teach to recognize the essence and convey ideas.

Welcome to Artwheel Academy

Ideas that Shape the Academy - Artwheel Academy is a place where students of all ages develop technical skills, visual perception, and imagination. We welcome curious learners who are willing to explore, experiment, and persevere through challenges. Our program combines rigorous artistic training with professional materials, thoughtful instruction, and a supportive studio culture. We believe that meaningful artistic ability is built through careful observation, consistent practice, and the courage to keep working even when progress is slow.

Observation and Critical Thinking - Why is Artwheel Academy especially relevant in an age of artificial intelligence and constant digital screens? Art offers a rare opportunity to slow down, observe carefully, and engage deeply with the world around us. Students discover that imagination and observation are skills that can be trained. They learn to see beyond assumptions—for example, realizing that a lemon is far more than simply "yellow"—and to translate three-dimensional reality into two-dimensional form through the study of light, color, value, form, and spatial relationships. Along the way, they develop concentration, resilience, patience, critical thinking, and respect for their own work. Our goal is to build a strong foundation in realistic visual expression that gives students the freedom to communicate original ideas with confidence and depth. What if a picture is worth a thousand words?

About

At Artwheel Academy, we believe every child holds a unique way of seeing the world. Our classes don't begin with a strict format of classical art training - they begin with training to observe and wonder. Is the lemon only yellow? Why? Is the shadow black? Why is that?

Founded by Regina - a classically trained artist, former veterinary pathologist, and lifelong observer of nature - our studio nurtures creativity, critical thinking, and emotional expression through art. We offer a space where mistakes are welcome, imagination is honored, and kids are spoken to with the same respect we offer adults.

Whether your child is a budding artist or simply curious, we welcome them into our circle of color, curiosity, and creation.

“Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited, whereas imagination embraces the entire world.”

— Albert Einstein
